Open Arms Ukraine was founded in 2007 with the original intention of serving and loving orphans in Sumy and the surrounding areas. In the 15 years since then, we have expanded our work to include at-risk youth, families, and the elderly. Since February 24th, 2022 our focus has been to support the people of Ukraine in bringing whatever aid we can.
Currently, we have 6 main war focus areas of war relief: food, medicine, rent/utilities, gas/transportation, military, and refugee support. Some of our team have been in Hungary since just before the war started, some have remained in Ukraine. In June we hired Vasya as our War Relief Coordinator to help with organizing and delivering aid and services to people in the Sumy region and all over Ukraine. Melissa and Sasha, our International Program Director and Ukrainian Logistics Director, have been supporting refugees as well as communicating and distributing financial aid from Budapest.
Thanks to our partnership with locals in Ukraine and because of the donations of people like you, from day 1 of the war we’ve been able to help hundreds of Ukrainians. To stand for their freedom and fight for their country and their lives in the military, in their homes, and where they are displaced. We have been able to deliver groceries, medicine and clothing. We’ve ordered dog tags, bullet proof vests and first aid kits. We’ve helped with rent, phone bills, and medical costs. We’ve put gas in tanks and kept lights on. We can only continue to do this with your help.

Help for the Cause
When you give to Open Arms you’re not just donating money, you are speaking to a child and telling them they matter. You show them their worth and help them understand that they are deserving of love. Giving today can make a difference for someone else.
